I am a 30-something German male with a doctoral degree in psychology, located in Frankfurt – Main (that’s the Main river, distinguishing the one Frankfurt in Germany from the other). Even though my own published work (it’s only a few papers, but there will be more someday) are of the mainstream psychometrics type, I am generally critical of the general approach in psychology to think that the somewhat haphazardly and arbitrarily assembled psychological “measures” (questionnaires, psychometric tests [IQ and the like] etc.) will lead to generally useful and relevant insights into psychological mechanisms — here’s a first approach to explain why.
