(Almost) self-referential polling

Andrew Gelman comments on circular polling: People were asked (in a poll) about their experiences with polls about the upcoming presidential election. Besides being surprised that “45 percent of Americans say they ‘have not read or heard anything about public opinion polls about the upcoming presidential election.’ ” (here in Frankfurt, Main, Germany [!], I have even seen something about those polls on the screen in the metro station), I especially liked the circularity that is evident not only in the polling about polls, but also in the writing/blogging about articles, and so I add to the self-referentiality (is that even a word?)
